VII.4.29 Pompeii. Drawing of Selene and Endymion by Giuseppe Marsigli, 1834, written below was
“Copy of a
painting existing in the new Casa del Forno a riverbero in Pompeii (corrected
to “in the capitelli figurati”)’.
The house
of the figured capitals is the house at the rear of this one and is linked to
it.
Now in Naples Archaeological Museum. Inventory number ADS 668.

Pompeii. 1839 drawing by Nicola la Volpe of painting of Perseus and Andromeda,
now faded and lost.
Found in
the same room as Selene and Endymion, and according to Fiorelli, there was also
a painting of The Three Graces.
